The OTTOFLEX® system for wet area's surface sealing

Wet rooms must be protected against water penetration. The OTTOFLEX® system consists of certified sealing compound (a sealing compound is a specially formulated mixture of materials for filling in gaps and cracks in order to create a watertight seal, typically applied in areas where there is a high level of moisture, such as bathrooms), primer, sealing tape and corners to form a barrier layer. This layer structure ensures a dry substrate and prevents resulting damage such as mould or water stains.

Moisture loads in showers and baths, in addition with chemical cleaning agents, create highly variable stress, some low, some high. The OTTOFLEX® system from Germany provides a collection of nationally certified sealing products for different stress categories as defined in various levels of water exposure classes specified by the German standard of waterproofing and sealing in buildings, namely DIN 18534 (Sealing interior rooms) and as tested with abP test reports (abP stands for the General Building Inspection Test Certificate for Germany).
